How to photograph a saree so AI gets it right
Five phone photos that let an AI photoshoot keep your saree's real colours, border and pallu.
An AI photoshoot can only copy what it can see. If the pallu is folded away or the border is in shadow, the AI has to guess, and guesses are where patterns change. A few careful phone photos fix most of that.
The five photos to take
- The whole saree: spread or hung so as much of it shows as possible.
- The pallu, laid flat: this is the part buyers look at first.
- The body: so the AI sees whether it is plain, has small buttis, or an all-over print.
- The border, close up: the zari and motifs, sharp and in focus.
- The blouse piece, if the saree comes with one.
Light and background
- Shoot in soft daylight near a window, not in direct sun.
- Turn the flash off: it flattens zari and changes colours.
- Lay the saree on a plain sheet in a colour different from the saree.
- Keep mirrors, windows and patterned bedsheets out of the frame.
Describe it in one line
Write what a buyer would say: “Plain aqua body with small silver buttis, floral pallu, gold zari border with a thin red edge.” The AI follows this description, which stops it inventing patterns it cannot see.
Check before you post
Put the AI photo next to your own photo and compare the colour, border and pallu. Haat Studio checks the colour automatically and shows a small photo of the actual product on posters, so buyers can see exactly what they will receive.
